Hi everyone I was sitting here watching a show called Bruce and I about Bruce Springsteen fans and it hit me. I need to write a book about my concert experiences over the years. Lets see I have seen several hundred shows in my lifetime, I have seen from the beginning of my life ,I dont remember the year but one of the first concerts I ever saw was with my dad at the Baltimore Civic Center, there were a lot of people on the show but the one everyone knows was Johnny Cash that was the beginning. The very first real concerts I attended were on Sunday afternoons with my parents in Frederick,Md called The Shiloh Ranch, who did I see well lets see, does Lorretta Lynn sound familiar, I have video of me and my brother Dale with Loretta hugging us.I also saw legends like Kitty Wells and Johnny Paycheck and Tommy Cash ,Johnny Cashs brother there and others I have forgotten. This was back in the late 60s ,then in 1972 I attended the first concert I ever went to with my friend and considered her my big sister, some may know her she is married to a fellow 1973 alumni John Reilly, her name is Carol and she was the start of 100s of great rock shows I have been too, the first rock show was The Steve Miller Band. From there it explodes, I have seen over the years TREX,Three Dog Night, Elton John, Eric Clapton(who I have seen at least 5 or 6 times), Grand Funk Railroad, Joe Walsh, Charlie Daniels(back in 1974 he opened for Joe Walsh),Aerosmith at Prince Georges Community College before they were big, The Jefferson Starship/Airplane, Stevie Wonder in 1974, Dave Mason,Kiss, REO Speedwagon, Mott the Hoople,The Leslie West Band, Ted Nugent,Blue Oyster Cult, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Leon Russell, The New Riders of the Purple Sage,Gary Wright, The Pousettete Dart Band, Bonnie Raitt,Little Feat,Yes, Jethro Till, Steve Winwood, got my picture in the Washington Post when they announced in the middle of the Night that tickets were going on sale for the Rolling Stones at Warner Theater I was one of the first people in line, As I said I have been to many and have 100s of stories but I will stop for now, what I will tell you is my top ten concerts,10. Alan Jackson, 9. Steve Earle 8.Roger McGuinn 7.Elton John 6. Fleetwood Mac 5. Jimmy Buffett 4. Simon and Garfunkel 3. The Who 2.Eagles 1. Led Zeppelin. I have many stories so be looking for my book coming in 20??,lol In the meantime Take it Easy!
