Hi everyone. Its Debbies daughter, Holli. Im posting this at my moms request, for those of you who may not have seen my Aunt Lindas post, to let you know whats going on with her. My mom is currently in the hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. At approximately 8:00 p.m. last night, her blood pressure shot up really high and she was experiencing a rapid heart beat. At 4:00 a.m. this morning, she began to show symptoms of a possible heart attack. She had an extremely high blood pressure, tightening of the chest, rapid heart beat, significant pain in her jaw, and was sweating profusely. 911 was called and she was taken by ambulance to Clay County Hospital. Several hours later, they made the decision to transfer her to Mount Vernon. They did do an EKG, which came back normal, so the doctor has ruled out a heart attack. Theyve done blood work (and you all know how my mom is with needles), and they currently have her on a heart monitor. They are planning to do a stress test in the morning. She is feeling better, but her blood pressure is still elevated. The results of the additional tests and monitoring will dictate whether or not she remains in the hospital for longer, or will be discharged tomorrow. Personally, Im just hoping the doctors find answers so they can treat the problem instead of simply waiting for another episode to occur. My moms phone has a dead battery and she doesnt have a charger with her, so she is not able to make or receive phone calls. Feel free to message me, Holli Hilliard Schremser, if you need to.
