Hi folks Id like to thank you all for your continuing support of this wee group of ours. There are dozens of such groups around at the moment, many of which weve all joined too, supporting the cause of self government for Scotland. It is a very exciting time for our homeland and for everyone throughout the world with Scottish connections. It’s great to see posts and discussions back and forth amongst us ex pats and you folks at home on a subject dear to our hearts, a subject which we are all committed to passionately. I hope I can speak for all members of the group from this side of the globe when I say that although we physically aren’t there with you it is very important to us, even though in the grand scheme of things we are insignificant, to feel that we are at least doing something to support you in the quest for Independence from here. Be in no doubt Scotland is very much in our souls, and in our minds. Anyway, on to the purpose of my post, which is to those of us here in the Perth area. Folks how would you feel about us all giving up an hour or so to do something tangible and get together, if we can, for a few group photos with Yes banners, flags etc that we can then share with family and friends at home in support, and some of the main social media groups involved in the campaign like Yes Scotland and others? A group in Melbourne did a similar thing last week. I’ve been hanging off sending this as I was awaiting my wife to recover from surgery, and she really wants to attend. If we are going to do this and I need to carry her shell be there! Lol. What do you think? Angela McBain, I know you also mentioned this a few weeks ago and you would be keen if you are available. As time is short we’d need to pick a date where most could attend. Personally I would propose Sunday 14th September, some time in the morning maybe? It would be good also to have the group photos taken somewhere typically Perth. I would suggest perhaps the South Perth Foreshore with the cityscape behind us in the photos? There are barbecue pits there too I think. I have a friend who iis a butcher and he makes good square sausage, so if you like I’ll see if I can get a hold of some of these as a contribution and we could have a bit of a sausage sizzle, bring along a few snags and a roll or two, and we can have a blether and a roll n sausage. I don’t hold out much hope for a well fired roll though..lol. If you are keen to take part, and if you can attend that day can you please let me know? If we’ve enough numbers interested we’ll set something up. Saor Alba
