Hi friends, As you may or may not be aware I have been - TopicsExpress

Hi friends, As you may or may not be aware I have been accepted on staff with YWAM Harpenden, England, where I was involved with a DTS outreach during 2013. During this season God did amazing things in my life showing me new potentials and teaching me to truly depend on him, as well as being able to minister to others and help to spread the Gospel and encourage other believers. Throughout my time on outreach I helped to staff an Easter Camp for children and teens of military families - an intense week of looking after a dorm, running activities and leading bible studies. We joined a YWAM ship in the port of Liverpool and helped minister to the homeless of the city, immigrants to the UK, as well as those out to party in the city’s night life. After this we journeyed to the country of Albania where we stayed with a local church in this predominantly Muslim country, running a youth group, feeding roma-gypsy camps, visiting an orphanage, and helping the local community of believers in any practical way we could! When I return to Harpenden I will go through orientation and enter a mentorship program called ‘ID’, I will then be involved in different areas of ministry throughout the base, with the aim to progress to staffing on DTS schools and being involved in mentoring young people and sowing in missions trips across the UK and abroad. YWAM is a non-denominational missions organisation with over 20,000 full time staff worldwide and it is part of the YWAM culture worldwide that each staff member raises their own funds to support their work. This not only helps in covering the costs of everyday needs but helps in providing the chance to partner with others and create a support network back home. I will begin on the 31st March and I aiming to head off on March 27th. In order to be able to apply for my visa, which needs to happen by the end of February, YWAM need to know I have obtained my monthly support requirement of at least $600 AU. This covers things such as housing, food, communication, laundry, transport, medical and other essentials. I could achieve this through 6 people supporting me $100 a month or 60 people supporting me $10 a month, even if you feel you can only give a little as a one off or weekly/monthly I am highly grateful as it all goes a long way and all adds up in the end, any support is highly valued. Finally if you could keep me in your prayers I would greatly appreciate it. The support and prayer of my community back home is highly valuable and powerful. You can find more information through the page info button & from April I will be posting monthly updates through my blog. God Bless. Luke.
