Hi friends! Many of you in my network are scientists of some - TopicsExpress

Hi friends! Many of you in my network are scientists of some sort — researchers, teachers/educators, science communicators, journalists, supporters etc. We all love science and have had many wonderful conversations about it. Through these conversations I also know that were all really concerned about the state of science: the cuts in funding, the attack on science education in schools, and the lack of evidenced-based decision making when it comes to the important issues of our time like climate change. This September, theres a big UN climate summit in New York, and Im helping thousands of scientists to make their voices heard at the Peoples Climate March. By marching in our lab coats en masse, we will physically and dramatically show that were not just content to issue reports that fall upon deaf ears. We are going to stand up for science and actively fight against cynical campaigns of deceit and attacks against our profession by the fossil fuel industry and politicians serving private interests. But I need your help. Please spread word about the march by liking Science Stands and sharing this image. I know that many of you, spread around the globe, may not be able to attend in person yourself. However youll be a great help simply by passing on information about the march and signing up your lab, school or organization to endorse the march (bit.ly/sciorgsmarch). More ways to help can be found here: peoplesclimate.org/scientists/help/ Thank you!!! Please come if you can!
