Hi guys. I need some emergency help. This is my foster brotha Panchito. Hes almost two now and he came to us for help under terrible circumstances. Panchito was just eight months old when he was found on the side of a busy road in a sack. He had old and new injuries; a broken pelvis, smashed elbow, and many lacerations consistent with being hit by a car and pushed along a hard surface. Panchito was taken to a hospital and had his elbow fused with a plate and skin grafts to help repair his other injuries. The photos of his surgery look like something from the Frankenstein movie, there are so many stitches. All of Panchitos past left him with fear aggression and thats how he made his way here, so that me and Mom could help him to trust people again. Mom took him to Dr Pond, our Orthopedic specialist who said that the repair to his leg was as good as could be expected and only time would tell if it could be saved. We took him for weeks of PT too, which also helped with his confidence because his therapist Jill was very calm and great at handling him. Well things were going pretty well until about six weeks ago when Panchito started to lick his leg on the area where his repair was. Mom tried lots of things like a cone and pain meds and finally last week he went back to see Doc Pond. He took some X-rays and said that so much scar tissue has built up that its putting pressure on the nerves and causing permanent pain. Also he has stopped using his leg so all the muscles have atrophied. Doc said the only thing is to amputate. We are sad because hes just a kid and hes very playful and athletic. But he will be fine. So now friends Im looking for help to raise $2700 for surgery so that my brotha can finally have the pain free life he deserves.
