Hi guys! Its been a long week. TGIF. I mean its tomorrow but you know what I mean. Lol. Its been crazy over here. Good, but crazy. I honestly just havent been in a posting mood these past few days. Everything that has been going on with us just seems so trivial compared to the fact that Nikkais oldest friend just buried his son. I just cant even. :-(. The girls first day of school was this week. They are rocking it. :-). Yasenia is so incredibly confident. Its a side of her we have always seen, but that I kind of always assumed was because she was in her element. Like being in a classroom with other kids with different needs. Not so much. Lol. Case in point. She walked up to another little girl on the way into school today and very happily said hi. The other little girl looked a little shy and didnt say anything so Yasenia kept following her until she waved back. I assumed at the time that this was someone from her class. Nope. Just a random kid. Lol. Then I was standing outside her class talking to one of the guidance counselors (whom we love) and I watched Yasenia walk to different people in her class just to see what they were doing. Apparently she hasnt reached for her speech device once. She did tell me today that they were in the library and one of her classmates asked how she got a big cut on her jaw. Yasenia said she tried to explain it but the other little girl didnt understand her and that she didnt have her speech device since she was out of the classroom. Yasenia didnt seem at all bothered or frustrated though and really for me thats the most important part. She and Danika have been getting along great in class which is good too. In other news we got Yasenias collagen genetic test back. For those that dont know Yasenia came back with three abnormal variants on two of her collagen genes. They tested Nikkai and I because if we have it too then it means nothing. If not its an unknown collagen condition. Turns out that I have one gene variant and Nikkai carries the other two. We are just a bunch of abnormal peeps up in this house. Lol. Because the two of us passed this on its just a normal gene variant and means nothing. We are running a full gene panel next but this is a brand new test that the genetic lab here wont start doing until after the first of the year so thats a ways off. Nikkai came home at 3 this morning. We went to breakfast after we dropped the girls off and then we went shopping for my Gala dress. It was the third one I tried on and it was 85 percent off. Im not sure if I was so happy because I love the dress so much or because Im so cheap. Lol This throwback Thursday is all the way back to Tuesday on the first day of school. I know. I dug deep for this one. Lol. Love you guys.
