Hi guys, Ive been noticing quite a few negative comments to and from younger folks on their Facebook pages and it really bugs me to see people arent as friendly on these social media pages as they are in real life. Maybe they get the two confused? I hope not. I wouldnt care if it was happening to me, but when I see it on other pages it really grinds my gears. I try my best to encourage upcoming ocean photographers and share my knowledge of photography, but Ill be the first to say I am still learning and want to know more. Why do people feel the need to rag on others when they are just having a go? Have a good look at your own work before remarking on others. Photography is not a competition. You dont do it for social credit, you do it because its the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last thing before you sleep (even then it doesnt stop). You do it because you love it, because it drives you. It is an art form that has no boundaries, your only limitation is your imagination. No one is an expert and no one owns the ocean. Share it and be positive, encourage, be humble and think about what you say to others. Let your images do the talking. Feel free to unfriend me if youre an expert and feel the need to constantly criticise other people. #cantstandbullies
