Hi my name is Christine Deng, Heres something [not as flowery as these other FLC posts] that Ive wanted to get off my chest. My attendance to FLC this year was a little different than most of yours. To say the least, I was unwilling to return to FLC this year in fear that the event would be filled with bittersweet memory making. Last year, I served on District Council as the Area 3 Director. Aaron and I were amongst the few Juniors to be on DC. I dont want to speak on behalf of Aaron, but I never really thought it through that last year could be my peak in Interact. I did not make the cut to Dynamo DC. At first my world was crushed this summer(like a sore poop loser); I kept going on for weeks about how I no longer had a place to belong. That, that was my ceiling. Regardless, I could not leave Interact. It was painstakingly obvious that I still loved Interact and the Interactors - you guys. However, I do NOT regret coming to FLC today. I had the opportunity to work with my Dauntless brother at the Pay-it-Forward workshop. Memories resurfaced and I could feel my passion for Interact rekindle itself instantly. It was your faces, your smiles, your joy, your kindness, and your open hearts that desire to help those suffering that reminded me once again how beautiful the Interact community is. This is a family, a service club, and an opportunity to discover who you are and what you stand for. With Interact, you will find the inner leader in you. All you have to do is OPEN YOUR EYES. Dont shy away from any moment of learning experience. Interact is a safe and humble group where you will always belong if needed. We will take care of you here.
