Hi one of my cousins has the terrible rare disease Alpha 1 Antitrypsin deficiency which can cause severe lung or liver disease in suffers. At the moment there is no treatment available in Scotland. I would be most grateful if you could help her by emailing your MSP to help raise awareness of Alpha 1 Antitrypsin deficiency and hopefully get treatment available in the UK. You can use this if you like and just change it say that your friends family member suffers etc. My cousin is 39, a single parent of two children and she was diagnosed with this rare disease two years ago. This disease has caused her to suffer from emphysema. Her prognosis is sadly not good and she will undoubtedly be requiring a double lung transplant in the near future. I would be grateful if you could help raise awareness of Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and help in bringing treatment to Scotland, treatment that will hopefully prolong my life a little longer.
