Hi there everyone, We have had an interesting week or two, with the usual self-motivating selection of things both good and bad happening, culminating in two members of staff both being away (to different parts of the world, I might add) for the next few days. Following a rallying call, a number of Silkroadies have courageously volunteered to help the cause which means that Gwen and Adrian will be serving you this evening, Val and Gerardos turn will be on Friday and Katy, Rebecca and Ben will all be here on Saturday! How wonderful is that? I will be in the kitchen cooking it all up for you, but what will be going on outside is nobodys business! Ha - whatever happens, it will be good fun and totally embraces the Silk Road concept of community, caring, sharing and loving the old place, where many of them have grown up, or met or even got married! Thank you all, I very much appreciate the sentimentality and I look forward to tasting your Gin & Tonics! Entertainment-wise, we are hoping to see the glamorous (dedicated Silkroadie) Serita on Saturday 15th and also the 22nd, but that will depend on bookings. Jazz Thursday this month will be on the 27th November and then we are back with our fabulous quiz on Wednesday 3rd December. After that we kick off with some Xmas parties and so far they look like this: Friday 5th December - DJ Nick will host another Zumba/Latin/Jive night with our Full Party Buffet Xmas menu (discount as always for Silkroadie bookings). Saturday 6th December - DJ Nick and Serita will be doing their usual Xmas Party double act. Friday 12th December - Cookie Jones and his Brazilian/Latin jazz night. Saturday 13th December - DJ Nick and Serita return. Friday 19th December - The Great Kemal Kusabbi and his Funky Soul Band will be here. Saturday 20th December - Another Party night with Serita and our resident DJ. Wednesday 24th December - Potentially we will have our usual Xmas Get-together with entertainment, food and lots of prezzies! Tbc. So folks, thats how things are looking at the moment, with spaces currently available at all our events, although company bookings are coming in daily. Please let me know if you would like to join us for any of the above nights and dont forget that we are also open every day during the week too (apart from Mondays).
