Hi, thought Id share one of my old conceptual image here. This is a seemingly complicated setup, but quite simple nevertheless because every light has a purpose. The setup totals 5 strobes and is a mix of speedlights, in optical slave mode, and studio strobes triggered via on-camera transmitter. Smoke is from a smoke machine. Some filters were added in post, but nothing too fancy. Now to the light setup (sorry I dont know the power settings because I always play by eye): Main light: speedlight on table gelled with a 1/2 CTO. Strobe head is wrapped in a transparent plastic bag to diffuse and spread the light. Fill light: studio light slightly above camera right facing down at 45 degrees (low power as I didnt want too much of the shadows filled). 40cm gridded beauty dish. Rim lights: studio lights left and right behind the model; left one slightly raised and gelled with a turquoise gel and right one placed at the models height and gelled with a 1/2 CTB. Both are diffused by gridded stribboxes (medium size). Extra light: speedlight gelled green and zoomed to the max to avoid too much light spilling. The story behind this?
