Hi, we only live in Crete a couple of months a year, but we do own a house. I hope Im allowed to ask a question! We went to the Gouvernetou Monastery (pls forgive spelling) on the Akrotiri to do our fav. walk and there was a sign saying that we werent allowed past the church (about 1/2 way point of this famous walk--we didnt discover it--its in all the books). When we got there, there were new walls, since April this is, brand-new, in all directions, and absolutely no way past them to get to the path to the sea. Does anyone know why this is, and if its permanent?
