Hibernation In the thirteenth century I went to sleep To my utter surprise I see when I awake At that time those who were living in the caves Now they are winning everything in battles And those who were victorious now they get Kicks in their buttocks and lose everything in life Prestige, honor and self-respect all dashed On the ground and turn into particles of dust Were they involved in fratricide? Did they Go extravagant in life style, too fond of luxury? Did they neglect science and defense necessities? Did they narrow down the syllabi of their studies? Or in attitude they went too much fatalistic? May be all are correct or may be all are wrong Or is it just a fettered natural phenomenon Bound to happen to every empire, every power Has to meet the inevitable fall like every high tide And that rise and fall move in a cycle in a gap of Digit eight? Then is it possible that 21st century Could belong to them? Long ago I shunned pessimism That caused my downfall now I am too optimistic!!
