Hip hop artist, and Musician from the heart of Detroit, Michigan playing drums since he was 12years old, taught by his Father. A Percussionist specializing in hand drums, congas, bongos, djembe, with Genres including Jazz, Latin Jazz, Funk, West African, Afro Cuban etc. . Hip hop has always been a strong Passion of his. He was influenced by his older brother who started writing rap songs as early as 1996. After spending a summer in Chicago with his aunt one of the founders of Kuumba Lynx (An Arts and Education Organization founded in 1996 providing access to programs that preserve, promote and present urban arts & culture.) which inspired him as a youth to see another side of Music as he watched his Aunt J. Villegas perform live on stage with dance and poetry. Music has always been around the house. His dad kept congas in his living room and bought him a kids bongo set to practice on. His sister was in a school marching band and played alto sax. In 2004 Rob recorded several songs with rappers Thirsc & Kstar in Glendale Ca. Since then Rob has had his first performance with his dad at an award ceremony for Muhammad Ali , Jerry Bell & Wesley Snipes performing West African djembe and congas. For a few years Rob jammed with his friends from Burbank, or his good friends in Hawaii. Specializing Hawaiian slack key guitar. 2years later Rob met Luna Vida , Vocalist of the SkyGazers, Had a rehearsal/audition in echo park , and history was made. The next night He was House of Blues Sunset Strip Many people enjoyed the sounds of the Skygazers as they performed @ other great venues & Events in Los Angeles. Rob started Recording hiphop songs, shooting videos, and performing With his good High School friend Christopher Darrel Gibbs For a year, & recently started working with him and The Boss up movement again. Now Rob is back with the band Skygazers Performing @ great Venues in Los Angeles, and working with talented Artist & producers in the area. Like the Page , Follow The Music & his story ----> ROB E.
