Hiring Now: Resource Manager - Qatar - Granite Services Inc Visit Middle East Jobs >> bit.ly/midejobs Please Follow >> bit.ly/mideastjobs SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Resource Manager is to develop competitive strategies to effectively hire, retain, train and assign field technical talent. In general, these individuals will perform or supervise installation, construction, maintenance, inspection or troubleshooting of mechanical systems with an emphasis on turbines. The Resource Manager’s responsibility and authority is focused on the resources within their geographic region. They will work closely with Recruitment, HR, Service Managers (SM), and Outage Execution Leader (OEL) to accomplish these objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs outage planning with SM’s and OEL to ensure the right crews are assigned for successful and timely completion of each work scope Verifies employee readiness for execution of assigned tasking Ensures the skill and knowledge necessary for the craft labor pool is maintained at or above industry standards Develops and manages training programs in order to reach and exceed industry standards while preparing the employee for future assignments Coordinates with employee owners for career path planning and progression of the craft labor pool Responsible for the data integrity and maintenance of the craft labor pool’s electronic identities within the PowerSource database Establishes base load of resources capable of executing planned and contingent manpower work during peak seasons thus minimizing the need to hire “off the street” resources Minimize the cost of bench time due non-working retained resources Utilizing workload forecasting tools and projected supply of resources, liaise with HR and Recruiting to ensure future demands are met; Consideration is given to both skill set and geography Partner with customer and OEL for strategic capacity planning Final hiring authority for skilled craft labor within regional realm of responsibility Provide periodic reports to senior management on the status of all employees in skilled crafts Facilitate periodic global conference calls via the Resource Optimization Center for planning and scheduling of available resources Liaise with Human Resources for the issues concerning retention of employees, such as, tracking contract renewal status and Granite exit evaluation and career opportunities Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Exercise excellent customer service skills to SM’s and OEL’s Excellent communication and management skills Possess troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of employees Understand office formats and procedures, including Microsoft Office Suite and software optimization techniques (database experience preferred) EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree with 5 years power/energy industry experience required, or a minimum of 7 years industry experience, in a recruitment or resource management role. Industry certifications in HR, project management, or technical disciplines desired.
