Group F has a very interesting scenario with Argentina on top with six points, Nigeria on four and Iran on one. And should Iran beat already-eliminated Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0, and Nigeria lose 1-0 to Lionel Messi’s Argentina, then for the first time in this 84-year-old competition, a decision off the field will be made. In this unprecedented case, Argentina, who have already qualified for the second round, will end on 9 points, while Iran and Nigeria will share four with the same goal-difference and same number of goals scored for and against. This would mean that FIFA will have to decide via flipping a coin or drawing their names out of a hat. Their spokesperson, Delia Fischer confirmed via Brazilian media that the lottery would be held at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro after the match should the need arise.
