Hitting your axis points every time is so important going around barrels and will create the consistency your horse needs on the pattern. Every horse will be different however. For instance, this mare has a long stride and is tall, therefore, I ask her to keep her feet about a 5ft distance all the way around the barrel in slow work. Where as, my other little mare can be closer because she is catty in her turns. :)
