Hmmm....hearing, from an ENT doctor thats had a private practice for 30 years, that I have one of the worst cases of chronic sinusitis hes ever seen and about a cup of goop where I should have pockets of air, is kind of disturbing. I knew they were bad, but one of the worst? His words: This is not minor. Yikes! He said that he could tell that antibiotics did absolutely nothing to help heal what I have going on, so were going to try something new. I am scheduled for surgery in about 3 1/2 weeks, to have all that taken care of, and temporary tubes put in my ears (right one for sure, left one TBD) to drain the fluid behind my ear drum. I am excited to have fewer sinus problems, after suffering from sinus infections and sinusitis all my life, and Im excited to be able to hear again. I am also very scared, because I hate the S word, but at least it will be through an Endoscope and there wont be any scarring, bruising or swelling (the doctor promised). If you could, I always appreciate prayers, positive vibes, whatever you want to call it. I believe in the power of positive thought and prayer, so any would be wonderful! I am a bit in shock, kind of numb - this has been going on for more than 30 years, so its a step in the right direction, but its still terrifying.
