Hobby = More Pocket Money!!! I was talking to my friend sometime back when another money-making hobby came to mind. Y’see, my friend was a successful remisier back in the day when the stock markets were roaring. When the market crashed though, it took her with it, and she never really recovered in that career. What could she do then? She got in touch with her inner self and plucked up enough courage to indulge in an activity she was good at and loved – baking. She started baking Christmas puddings and fruit cakes. Having obtained a certificate in baking, she opened a cafe in the city area and is enjoying her new-found profession. In this case specifically, she’s taken her passion beyond mere pocket money. She is now a businesswoman. I have another friend whose mom bakes and sells her confectionery at every festival to earn money for her children’s tuition. I suppose this is the most common hobby-cum-money-making-venture. Apart from baking, many who love cooking offer it as a catering service. That’s equally wonderful but competition is increasingly stiff. How to set yourself apart? Offer value-added services such as home catering, family functions, delivery of health meals for whose with special needs or diets, and the list goes on. It is literally endless. But the most successful of all in today’s world is the one that offers the healthiest and most authentic option, such as home-made, original, and the use of only organic ingredients. Do you love cooking? Are you always the one left behind in the kitchen at family gatherings and parties while everyone else has lots of fun?? Well now, you will still be left behind. But at least, you’ll get paid to do it. Think about it.
