Hola Gente, I hope you all have been able to follow the FB and Twitter updates posted in the past few days, announcing and promoting the great work of our caucus members. Please keep the good news flowing my way.There are non-caucus folks who like us on FB and follow us on Twitter and its important to let them know, first and foremost, that we exist, and that we do quality, cutting-edge, and important work. You never know who might contact you for a job, a guest speaking gig, consulting, co-authorship of an article etc. all because they saw your name promoted through these social media networks. So please, send me all and any information you feel comfortable having posting to our sites. This promotion of ourselves and our work is NOT narcissism, its necessary. I didnt share this with the whole caucus at our CCCCs business meeting, but when I went to the Cs registration counter to request Latino Caucus badge ribbons to pass out at our meeting, the lady at the counter asked how many Id need, I said 40, and she responded Oh, are there that many of you? So once again, its important we make our presence known because we exist and others should know. Send me any updates from the past 6 months (acceptance to PhD programs, passing MA/PhD exams, dissertation defense, job placement, events youve organized, fellowships/scholarships won, awards, appointments, promotions, publications, etc--this is not an exhaustive list), even if you dont think theyre significant, they likely are and can be a huge encouragement to other caucus members who are pursuing similar goals and work. Let me know, and lets aim to have at minimum an announcement each day until we see each other again in Tampa. Adelante!
