Holiday Inn Horror Story - Last night while staying at the Holiday Inn in Dubuque, IA we had quite the experience... We went to bed early and were awoken at 1 am by someone trying to get into our room. I jumped out of bed and went to the door to inform the person that they were at the wrong room. The man at the door replied by telling me that WE were in the wrong room and to open the door then started banging on the door. A little freaked out - I went to the phone to call the front desk to tell them what was going on and they told me to leave our room (thus confronting the psycho at the door) to come to the lobby to straighten things out. Using some choice words I expressed to the desk clerk that I had no plan of leaving my room and that they needed to send security up to remove the insane person from our door. About 30 seconds later the banging stopped and the man disappeared. Apparently they had checked 2 parties into the same room and gave us both key cards (to the same room)....lucky I decided to use the deadbolt last night (which I usually forget to do when I stay at hotels). The room was comped but that will not stop me from telling everyone I know to avoid this hotel at all costs. Consider yourselves advised.
