Holidays are about having time with family and friends, making - TopicsExpress

Holidays are about having time with family and friends, making those lasting memories, sharing food and laughter but for many of our neighbors, making ends meet and putting food on the table for their families is getting harder and harder. Recent cut backs to the programs to assist those in need has made this already difficult situation more critical. With the help of Peter Sloane at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina Papa Mojos Roadhouse will be sponsoring a food drive at several upcoming shows. On Saturday, November 30th, Mel Melton & The Wicked Papa Mojos Roadhousewill be giving anyone attending the show a $2 discount on admission when they bring in two cans of food. The next day, at the Triangle Blues Society Jam on December 1, there is no cover charge, but we are asking that everyone coming do the same thing, two cans of food for admission. Even if you cannot make these shows, you can help the food bank any time by donating your time, money or dropping off food at another food drive. This is important and we need your help! You can get more information by going to their website at foodbankcenc.org/site/PageServer?pagename=FBCENCHome or their Facebook page, https://facebook/FoodBankCENC?ref=br_rs The Tornado Blues Band Unplugged has generously offered to kick off our food drive this Friday at their show! Anyone coming to the show that brings 2 non-perishable food items will get $2 off their admission! Thank you Joel Sugarman, Jason Barker, & Thomas Hartley!
