Holy cow, has this already been 25 years? I will never forget this night. I was sitting in my dorm room in Larson Hall, watching the coverage, filled with a mix of wonder, amazement, inspiration, nervousness and a healthy dose of mistrust, just waiting for the Eastern Bloc to change its collective mind. It became two great years to be a political science major. To this day, I choose to think of this moment as the most important and impactful world event in my lifetime. Yes, 9/11 affected everyone in the world deeply, but this remains the reminder that humanity will always find its way to freedom from fear and oppression.
