Home from my first Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Removed the wristband, showered and washed the dirt off, but the memories will linger for some time. It was a wonderful opportunity to volunteer and be of service at such a great festival and work on such a fantastic team at the Performer Instrument Lock Up. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people from so many different walks of life can come together in harmony to feel a sense of the larger community and for the music. It was also great to make some new friends in Jim & Leslie Withall and with all of the crew I worked with. A shout out to Michele A Heaton and her friend Debbie for providing mimosas the past two mornings!!! I was also so very glad to catch up with so many of my folk brothers and sisters (apologies for omissions) - Neale Eckstein, Robert Grolling, Bernice Lewis, Amy J. Putnam, Jess Razzi, Beth DeSombre, Cheryl C. Kagan, Carolann E Solebello, Abbie Gardner, Honor Finnegan, Daniel Senie, Faith Senie, Michael Kornfeld, Ronny Cox, Kim Harris, Reggie Harris, Tracy Grammer, Matt Borrello, Ethan Scott Baird, Jake Bush, Jake Jacobson, Kathy Sands-Boehmer, Karen Hudson, Allie Farris, Ira Scott Levin, Louise Mosrie, Chris LaVancher, Avi Wisnia, Mya Byrne, Caitlin Canty, Jenny Goodspeed, Stephanie Marshall, Hayley Reardon, Tracey Euerle Delfino, John Gorka and Sarah Craig, Stanley McGaughey and Franklin (thanks for steering me in the direction of the Fogbuster coffee!!!) from Caffe Lena Performance highlights for me included Emerging Artist stage performances by Caitlin Canty, and The Levins, workshop stage performances by Tracy Grammer, John Gorka, and Aoife ODonovan and mainstage performances by Kim and Reggie Harris, Cheryl Wheeler, and The Boxcar Lilies. I look forward to seeing many of you at NERFA in November and at shows that we may be performing at together....... Until then, thanks for providing such a memorable weekend - Davey O.
