KEVIN HARVICK QUOTES: Share your thoughts on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Homestead (Miami Speedway) has been a great race track for us, whether it was flat or banked. Its been a race track where weve run well. It would be nice to close out my career at Richard Childress Racing with a win there and go out on the right note. RCR is where I got my start and its been a great career so far. Is it difficult to go to a track only once a year? Its definitely different for the fact that it seems like the track changes so much more because we only go there once a year, not to mention the progression of the car is so different from year-to-year. Homestead has aged over the years because of the climate its in and has become a very challenging track to drive and figure out. It does create new challenges when you only go there once a year, because you dont put as much focus on that specific track with testing and the things you should do to collect the needed data to put into the simulations to get the right starting point. Are you fatigued or excited when you finally get to Homestead-Miami Speedway? Youre pretty excited when you get to Homestead, because you know youre going to get some time off. Youre obviously still working during the winter doing photoshoots and working with sponsors, but at least you get to come home and sleep in your own bed at night. Its great to get month or so off, but Im pretty excited for the last day of school. Is it bittersweet for you to close out this chapter of your career? Im excited for what lies ahead. Im extremely grateful for opportunity that Richard (Childress, team owner) gave me, and Im proud of everything that we have accomplished throughout the years. 2011 CC Team Logo NSCS 31 CAT Jeff Burton No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS Event Preview Fact Sheet This Weeks No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet at Homestead-Miami Speedway ... JEFF BURTON QUOTE: Burtons thoughts on Homestead-Miami Speedway: The races at Homestead-Miami Speedway are always fun because there is so much on the line in each series with drivers going for the championship. The track is so much different than when we used to go there earlier in my career. It truly is a multi-grooved race track now. You can run the bottom, top and everywhere in between. It is a challenge for both the driver and the crew because we start the race in the late afternoon and usually finish under the lights. We ran in the top-five for a majority of the race at Texas Motor Speedway and are bringing that same car this weekend. If everything goes right, hopefully we can close the year out in victory lane. How would you describe your first season with Richard Childress Racing? Overall, we had a pretty strong first season together at Richard Childress Racing. As a team we nearly won Indianapolis Motor Speedway and dominated Richmond International Raceway. Statistically this season is my best Nationwide Series year of my career, so thats a plus.
