Honble Welfare and Tourism Minister Press Meet regarding “PILGRIM SPECIAL TOURIST TRAIN to Shridi” PTDC has been operating package tours for various tourist destinations like Tirupathi, Kanniyakumari, Rameswaram, Kodaikanal, Goa, Ooty, Andaman Island etc., for a long period. Now as part of this a special package has been arranged in tie-up with IRCTC from 10th to 17th November’ 2014 covering the places of Shirdi, Mumbai and Triambakeshwar. This is the first off its kind for the benefits of the Sai Devotees of Puducherry. This tour commences from Puducherry Railway Station. The salient features of the Pilgrim Special Tourist train are as follows: • Consists of 13 coaches in which 07 coaches are Sleeper class, 02 coaches are 3 Tier AC, 01 coach is 2 Tier AC, 01 Pantry car and 02 Power cars. • The total carrying capacity of the tourist train is 190 tourists in AC class and 510 tourists in SL class, with a total of 700 tourists. • The pantry car will dish out vegetarian food during the course of the tour. • Tour Escorts in each coach to escort the tourists during the tour. • Coach Security in each coach to safeguard the belonging of the tourists, while they are on tour. • Public Address System facility in each coach to convey information/announcements/religious discourses during the course of train journey.
