Honestly, Ive refused to have a conversation or read/listen to any information regarding the killing of Mike Brown. I dont have an answer or any clever status updates. All I know is that I never mentally or emotionally got over the Trayvon Martin killing. His killer is in the public eye still laughing in our faces and I hate that. I never got over the Oscar Grant killing or the clear reminder given in Fruitvale Station. I know some people are able to listen to the news, mourn, protest, and move on but I have years worth of anger in me as a result of the black men Ive seen killed in my lifetime at the hands of so called authority figures. I have years of anger in me from all of the killers who were found innocent because the innocent was a black man or woman. So forgive me if I dont want to to entertain a certain conversation right now. Forgive me if it just feels like a new name and face to the same old story. While I promote dialogue, answers, and solution I know I need to sit this one out in the name of self preservation.
