Honorable Home minister Rajnath Singh while addressing an International Conference for School Principals at New Delhi, on Friday, said that Our education system needs qualitative improvement and it should focus on skill development, values and spiritual development,”. YES, by all ways and means one should focus on this critical issue with open-mindedness and through future planning for India’s development in the Global Market. The Bureaucracy taking up the education system in our country should at least now think with right perspective with values added education and with value based education; this should include not only towards achieving the highest peak in education standards, not only for job but for recognition of our students through their talent. It is rightly said in the TOI news,…”Any effort to improve quality in education cannot be achieved through a mere narrow focus on achievement of scores or grades, aimed at rote learning, devoid of understanding, but with education systems aimed at a larger social purpose connecting education and life…” The proposed establishment of “NATIONAL COMMISSION ON EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA” shall work on the lines of Department of Personnel and Training. 1) With Aims and Objects to synchronize the present education system in India, which is found to be varying from State to State, Region to Region, from one university, including that of deemed universities to the other, from one language to the other, and within the Central and State’s Education program and variance in multiplicity of curricula, including period of semesters/years, and so on. 2) To evolve a systematized and centralized education throughout in India, covering the entire States/Central syllabus duly making out one type of education from first Class to 12th Class, from Graduation to Post Graduation level. 3) There shall be centralized examination/courses shall be one and the same throughout India. 4) The syllabus shall be inclusive of all the subjects, like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Commerce, IT, and so on up to 12th standard. 5) Present system of Grading shall continue, and the student who passes the 12th Standard shall have option to attempt to join in any of the Graduation studies of his choice, and with three optional subjects as of now. 6) The student can have option to elect either Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, or any other Technical subjects in the B.Tech /B.E. or go for M.B.B.S Course through All India Entrance Tests. 7) Once the student understands the entire system, he/she can develop their own future and employment. The present ‘Campus Selections/recruitment’ is based on the individual student caliber and not based on the degrees that the earned through stereotype of examinations…of course only a few selective students get berth in International Standard Companies and the others are happy with the present system of perks, etc.
