Hope everyone has had a wonderful Mardi Gras despite the horrible weather............been helping a client all day with an open house but was able to see the spirit of Mardi Gras the entire day from her balcony along Royal St. Gonna take a WHOLE lot more than some cold/rain to keep us from celebrating our special holiday ! Kudos to all the feathers, sequins, originality and wit/satire out and about that could not be restrained ! And how unique is it that on this day of revelry and mayhem we lose a friend that many of us knew--Bill Hatch. I cant help but think of Mark Twain at this moment. Twain was born the year Halleys Comet appeared and said toward the end of his life..........I came in with Halleys Comet.......It is coming again.........and I expect to go out with it..... Which he did in 1910 when Halleys Comet made its return visit. We will naturally mourn our friends passing.............but Bill was his own unique person--he did things his way. And Im inclined to believe in his mind and in the essence of his spirit, he said This is enough. And left our company his way----in glory at the culmination of Carnival. Shakespeare once said, When beggars die, then are no comets seen: The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes. Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
