Hope no one minds just trying to drum up more interest & to get the word out about a new group Breeders’ Rally The Next Steps Following on from an amazing meeting, which silenced its detractors and critics, you decided on a number of key actions. The first five are as follows: To form a network of breeders that, to begin with, will be driven by Regional Focus Groups and the first volunteers were identified to draw in their local colleagues and to add to them where possible. We must grow from 1st January 2015, from 60 to 120 active members of our movement. Attachment of Regional Reps. First meeting dates to be announced by Reps. To agree a “Brand” name, that should be the same for the network ID and the horses we breed. Our organization will embrace all studbooks, all selective breeding, all disciplines for horses and ponies and be entirely inclusive and non judgmental. We shall sit as an umbrella breeding organization above studbooks, disciplines and other breeding bodies to represent and influence OUR industry. Please email all your ideas for a name for the body so that we can vote next weekend. Choose the three you like best and we will build a shortlist. To agree a “Brand” logo for both our organization and our horses. Please submit your ideas by 31stth October as pictures so that we can vote by weekend of 15th November We will then ask you to choose the three you like best and we will build a shortlist for you to choose the most popular. Attach guidelines. Following the agreement of OUR Brand ID, we need a Facebook page and a website for communications that carries that ID for the outside world. Action? To agree a web portal that will provide for the marketing of our brand and horses. Proposals, together with any cost must be submitted by 30th November for onward communication and creation of a shortlist. Robert Lickley has already produced one that looks good and will not need money for us to develop it. We need not only the technical solution but also the commercial one. This needs high quality maintenance, activity, support and clear cost for users. To provide transparent information on the all studbooks: their breed objectives, grading rules and standards; levels of grading; sport activity (both British and Visitor Studbooks); Performance Testing. LC or other to produce. To begin the development of a “Buying Group” to enable us to share cost benefits where possible. Leader required in each local Group. At Regional Group level to work on the following agenda : Regional Video and Photo activity Foal and horse sales initiatives – Regional and National Breeder Parties and Events Breeding info at Events Breeder activities and events on the back of other events Brand Ambassadors and Riders Local and National Media Futurity Feedback Shows for Geldings Gala Shows * Communication through “Lifestyle” Channels We need: A database of high quality producers of youngstock A database of high quality young horse riders A database of highly experienced repro vets and pricing Premiums for Riders winning on British Bred horses Regional and National Centres for Activities We need our Facebook page to be for info only and not for debate. We must get together and be face to face to continue in the way that we started. We must work together and stick to what we agree democratically not create splinter initiatives or run away doing stuff that others do not share. We need an organization structure and a method of appointing our coordinating team and bringing Groups together. Later these Groups may be differently structured in a matrix bringing, say, focus on ponies, focus on eventing, etc. Each person must be elected for a period of time and then must stand for re election. Interim Chair possibly Jane Nixon? Going forward we are still working on the transition to our Regional activities and focus Groups, how we can manage the centre and how we manage and share information
