Hopeless hope is when you are falsely led to believe that you - TopicsExpress

Hopeless hope is when you are falsely led to believe that you can work your way out of poverty on minimum wage and led to believe that you will get housing supports or other social services. What elected person will see it end? There are a many in our area who are underpaid by profitable firms. I know of a worker who once worked for a firm that paid the minimum wage. This owner then went on to sell his business for a huge profit, these while your tax dollars were spent providing housing assistance and other social supports for the workers family! Some have suggested that increasing wages is the answer. While that answer looks good, look at the price of goods that go up or the hours of work that go down for most workers who see no change. So I would suggest this based on experiences I found from those working in the area. We need to think about challenging business ethics. Perhaps a grace period for those who come and set up, but state how long and at what profit levels we will allow and provide social supports for their workers to help the business build. Voters need to be told how long they will be required to buy goods or services and yet again have to purchase through taxes related to social costs for family members or children affected by the forced poverty. We set up rules to insure tax dollars go to those in need when it comes to poverty, we need to ensure that businesses in our area do not keep those very same workers in need while they profit at the taxpayers expense! Questions to all candidates; 1. Are you or your party for helping reduce poverty? 2. Are you OK with forcing some irresponsible business out of taxpayers pocket books by getting their workers off needless social supports? 3. Are you OK with taxpayers subsiding profit taken at the expense of workers and their familys money and time? 4. What level of profit is OK with your party while social costs mount for taxpayers and hurt the working poor? 5. Is it OK for voters to call a profitable business and ask that a worker be paid more in wages? 6 END the practice of halting work before the 30 hour health tax kicks in and start with hour one ! 7 halt no family life or ships passing in the night jobs. ============================== Are you sick of these welfare types taking my hard-earned money and spending it on whatever they please. I mean, do they really need a membership Fortune 500 Club? It doesn’t make them look so destitute to me. In fact, it looks bloody extravagant. But don’t pretend it doesn’t get on our nerves when the aged, the disabled and veterans are put in need just to ease the need for more corporate welfare entitlement. Every so often we hear about yet another recipient (tax cut) from government handouts. We might hear how much they’ve managed to squeeze out of us with their tear jerker stories and “we’ve run into reduced sales this quarter.” Then we see some of them dressed up, posing for photos with a politician, and they can always count on their bleeding heart friends in some of the mainstream media to advance on their behalf for even more generous treatment. I’m tired of hearing how some of them, already familiar with government (our) money, refuse to take precautions and instead strike up random short-term ‘business relationship’ to only create subsidy after subsidy, knowing the public will keep paying the tab. It seems that politicians don’t even care that they’re creating a culture of dependency; a whole dynasty of welfare kings and queens. Before you know it we’ll have “fourth generation” welfare corporate types who think it’s okay to sit around watching their flat screen TVs instead of making good with our money. They should agree to weekly check-ins to account for their activities while living high on the public hand out. And, if they’re not going to even bother doing something worthwhile or practical with our money, like getting their houses in order, doing research about how to develop their assets, investing in equipment and training, shouldn’t there be some way to make them pay it back at a minimum should these deadbeats be doing community service to prove they deserve our assistance – support local business instead of stashing our money in offshore accounts? Or helping develop and maintain social and physical infrastructure, since they use those things the same way other honest taxpayers do. What about rogue employers who pay minimum wage while taxpayers foot the bill for things like social housing and more while they profit take. After years of tax breaks, credits and bailouts, it’s clear we’re dealing with a dangerous level of corporate entitlement that’s resulted in a pervasive culture of irresponsible welfare entitlement. The repeated promises of “giving back” through research and investment and job creation have simply not materialized. They’ve just taken the money while taking us all for a ride, with the aged, the disabled and workers paying even more for needless perks. ============================================ Hopeless hope is when you are falsely led to believe that you can work your way out of poverty on minimum wage and led to believe that you will get housing supports or other social services.
