Hot Job Announcement Carlsbad, NM Position Title: Regulatory Specialist (FS97891) Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in the sciences from a four year accredited college or university. Experience: 2 years experience with environmental regulations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Internet browsers. • Must have the ability to manipulate data on computer hardware and other electronic storage media (CDs and DVDs). • Must be a self-starter, demonstrate initiative and be able to work with diverse work groups and in a teamwork environment. • Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision. • Must have attention to detail. • Ability to adapt to changing work scope, deadlines and multiple priorities. • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen Preferred Requirements: - Professional experience with EPA-specific WIPP regulations (40 CFR 191 and 194) as they relate to the WIPPs recertification compliance application. • Experience with GPS equipment and GIS (Global Information Systems) software • Familiarity with the WIPP Project a plus. Additional Information: Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Typical Responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following: • Gather and evaluate complex technical information and prepare written reports and documents with recommendations to management for solving issues or problems. • Analyze procedures, rules, and other requirements to evaluate conflicting or potentially conflicting requirements and areas where reinventing outdated requirements or initiating re-engineering concepts and principles can be considered and initiated. • Prepare documents for 2019. Compliance Recertification application and future applications. • Import documents into an electronic library as needed. • Import documents and input well information into the Well Tracking Application. • Lead field and data collection activities as necessary for the Delaware Basin Drilling Surveillance Program.
