Hot off the press: Emorys nationally ranked at #21 overall now (significantly behind Vanderbilt and Rice U., etc.): colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/page+3 Might anyone else here miss the Top 20 years that Emory previously enjoyed? :-) Of course theres the stale response of hitting alumni up for more donations. However, plenty of schools are better suited for such a brute force approach: wealthx/articles/2013/3-public-universities-made-list-of-15-schools-with-the-wealthiest-alumni Might there be any approaches that require (and enable) more innovation than monetary donation, though? Maybe so. ;-) Heres one proposal that could just as easily apply to Emory as it could to U.Va (which also used to be ranked well into the Top 20 as recently as the late 1980s): alumni.virginia.edu/forum/2012/12/shouldnt-u-va-launch-a-website-coordinating-its-efforts-pursuing-and-interest-regarding-genuinely-competitive-results-rewarding-prizes/ Neither university has substantially embraced that (seemingly cost-free) proposal though, and neither has returned to the Top 20. Any other proposals, then? :-)
