House Approves FY 2015 CJS Bill Washington, D.C. (May 30, 2014) – The annual spending bill that funds the Departments of Commerce and Justice, as well as several of the nation’s science programs, approved today in the House, once again reduces discretionary spending from the previous year while preserving core priorities, according to Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), chairman of the House Commerce-Justice-Science (CJS) Appropriations subcommittee. Wolf said the FY 2015 spending plan contains $51.2 billion in total discretionary funding, which is $398 million less than the FY 2014 enacted level, and terminates 33 programs, resulting in savings of more than $250 million from FY 2014. The bill also rescinds $469 million in unused prior-year funding. The Senate has yet to take any action on its version of the bill. wolf.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/house-approves-fy-2015-cjs-bill#.U4isK_ldXTo
