Housing Proposals - to solve local needs Thinking forward in the Dartington plan. May I propose some alternative sites for consideration as potential development sites for the Dartington plan, if additional sites are required. A/ Behind Warren Road, Dartington Estate There is plenty of space behind the Lescase buildings on Warren road on the estate. This would be an ideal space for co-housing and/or highly sustainable housing such as passive or straw bale. Its surrounded by green fields, so there is ample growing space. The facilities and services of Dartington Hall and potential job opportunities are within walking distance and is ideal for car sharing. B/ Foxhole, Dartington Estate - In case the Abundant Life project is once again rejected by the local community. - Then perhaps conversion of the apartments in Foxhole for 9 month winter lets, could still allow them to be used in the summer for international Festivals. Perhaps a more modest proposal for highly sustainable and community minded low cost living spaces could also be allowed for here. This could tie up with a major community led refurbishment of Foxhole with new community and business uses found for the space. C/ Rejuvenation or Replacement of Higher Close student accommodation, Dartington Estate. - Perhaps this could be used again by part time or full time students of the 21st century taking advantage of remote learning, e-learning or self learning opportunities offered by any academic or practical college around the word as well as ones on our door step. Perhaps even new online colleges could be based on the Estate such as a “Climate Change College” or Small but beautiful Arts & Craft Colleges. D/ Other Spaces found on the estate and perhaps a modest land based housing project around Cornwall farmers would be acceptable to the community. Happy to help with any of these proposals if required.
