How Cool! We have strictly indoor cats now (too many predators around, and before that, too many car-wheels....) But back when I was younger, I had one special kitty who loved to go on walks with me. Tapioca also famously came to greet me near the bus-stop every school-day to escort me on my walk home. She would even meet me on early-release days. She knew the sound of the bus, and would took the short-cut through the woods to meet me in time. Sadly, this favorite cat of mine succumbed to one of the great dangers of outdoor living. I miss her to this day. But thanks to Tapioca, I do know that many cats can make great hiking and walking companions. Maybe I will try taking our kitties on leashed walks again, someday. In the meantime, the screened porch is their favorite place to hang out, especially when it is warm with afternoon sunlight.... (Robin S. - be sure to see the section about kitty-strollers :-) )
