How Dejen Escaped from Karsheli COULD IT BE THAT DEJEN IS TELLING A FAKE STORY NOT TO ENDANGER THOSE WHO HELPED HIM ESCAPE? THE ABSENCE OF CRITICAL THINKING is THE ENGINE OF DICTATORSHIP Some days ago I wrote (see below) a note regarding, among others, Dejen. What I wrote stands. But in addition I would like to note the following: I find the way he escaped from Karsheli and then from Asmara through Akria incredible, to say the least. Mind you: he was a well-known prisoner for 15 years. The guards know what the consequences are if a prisoner like Dejen escapes: capital punishment and if not life-imprisonment under harsh conditions. Do you think they would let him just escape like that without any targeted action. We know how harsh the system is. He escaped for the liberty of us all and above all for THE LIBERTY OF THE MIND. I am just exercising that. Dont get mad just because I question... That is the habit of PFDJ and other totalitarian systems. The way Dejen Escaped from Karhseli and based on the current version seems similar to the way Asmarinos used to escape after eating Beles nay Sania Amazing Escape of a Pilot after 15 years Imprisonment in Eritrean prisons Without Any Due Process Amanuel Eyasu has done a great job! Not only of interviewing him calmly and giving Dejen the space to explain his enriched experience; but for admitting that he himself had made mistakes in the past. This is a great leap forward. I hope others will follow suit. Journalism, pursuing the truth and nothing but the truth; and informing the people to your best ability must be the main purpose of a journalist. Activism that violates the aforementioned principle is harmful and should be avoided at all times. If not we will build another Lies of Empire like PFDJ. You cant defeat Lies of Empire through lies. If you try that, you build another monster that will devour you.. Away with pen names and non-verifiable our sources. And what can one say about Dejen Adi Hishel? Only weak people need a hero but I dont mind to be called weak before this giant who gives PRAISE to THE ONE who should be PRAISED: God!
