How about this for an exciting discovery in the Nyabarongo River - OUTSIDE of an officially protected area and only a few kilometres from Kigali! A hippopotamus cow and calf (a third animal was also seen). This was somewhere near Rubila. Perhaps the same two animals have previously been seen in the Nyabarongo from the bridge on the road between Kigali and Bugesera (James Hogg). Thanks Kenny Babilon!
