How did American nuns move from traditional confines of convent - TopicsExpress

How did American nuns move from traditional confines of convent life to social activism that has them under Vatican investigation for being too radical and feminist? Blame (or credit) Vatican II early 1960s, w/c instructed Catholics to take their religion out into the world & make it relevant. The radicalizing effect of focusing on physical world & equality of all humans is most obvious in scenes where we see nuns running an organic farm & environmental center, or presenting a cosmology that is as much indigenous as Genesis. No wonder they’re in trouble w/ church patriarchy, even under a new pope!!
