How do I begin the end? First, I thank God. I thank Him for - TopicsExpress

How do I begin the end? First, I thank God. I thank Him for this remarkable adventure I have been on since August. It has been an experience like no other I have had in my life. I have memories that will last a lifetime as well. I have learned so very much from so many people. Most of all, Ive learned to trust and rely on my Jesus like never before. Ive learned about the differences in cultures and how they play such an important role in day to day life. Ive also come to understand cultures can be just another way of saying Ill do it my way. Of all things, the church (body of believers in Jesus) has its own culture...the way of the cross and the promises and precepts of God as given to us in His Holy Word. That is the culture we should strive to live in. It isnt always easy. There are fights and battles within and without in this fallen world, and all too many times the strife is from the enemy attack. That is when you learn to turn to the One who is sovereign for guidance and sustenance. Many times when I look at the sunrise or sunset skies or in the face of a precious child I have been lifted as if the hand of the Lord was on me. Then there are the people. I love them so much. From the child who insisted on getting at least 3 bandaids a day for her cut finger to the wise and honorable cook who quietly and skillfully prepares meals day in and day out. Each has their own special place in my heart. To my coworkers...my new family...Travis and Ashlie, Amy, Jennifer, Brittany, Kolton, Katelyn, my partners in movie night, and beach trips and creole class, I love and respect each of you for what you are doing. You have answered your call and your obedience is admirable. I pray every day you are protected and supported by all of us back home. You will be prayed for I promise. To the visiting short term mission workers I thank you for your fresh insight and encouragement and your kindnesses to all of us long term people, not to mention your hard work and generous support. To Sherrie, I thank you for teaching me so much about dedication and determination. You are a remarkable woman that has accomplished so much for the people of Haiti. Now the time has come for me to leave Haiti and return home. I am as sure of the leaving as I was of the coming. I accomplished what I think God wanted me to do, and now He says its time to move on. What is next? I dont know. Will I ever return to Haiti? I dont know. I do know my God has a plan. His plan is for my good and to give Him glory. Wherever or however that may be done is in His hands. His grace is sufficient. His love is never ending. Thank you to each person who has followed my ramblings on this page and have prayed and supported me in so many ways. One thing I will ask of each of you. Never stop praying for the people of Haiti and for the wonderful ministries that are working under extreme conditions to provide the love of Jesus to a lost world. So.....this adventure is done....time to start towards the next adventure with Jesus in....?.... God bless each one reading this, and love to all.
