How do you preserve your identity on the net? Its simple. Suppose you want two distinct facebook accounts or two distinct yahoo accounts. Well, you get two separate email addresses, first and dont forget not to put any real identifying info in your email address. [email protected] is not a good one. [email protected] is much better and there are lots and lots of places where you can get a free email account. Do a google search if you dont know of any. Then go to facebook or yahoo and set up two accounts using the two email addresses. Its also helpful if you use a mail service that lets you create aliases so it all gets put in the same mailbox and that simplifies reading it. It might be best if you dont sign a sig line or else have one automatically added to the replies because you dont want to forget and reveal that youre really someone else, especially if you are arguing with yourself on a web site. Some folks have done that to spice up a site and develop more interest. Haha. I have an alternate ID so that I can see people whove blocked me, such as spammers. One thing you dont want to do is have someone threaten you or intimidate you into silence on the net. That happens a lot. Ive been threatened with being murdered. But they cant make it very convincing if youre using a made-up ID and dont know who you really. Its actually quite liberating.
