How does seeing Jesus face to face at the second coming differ (if at all) from when the disciples saw Him face to face during His earthly ministry? Obviously Jesus post resurrection body was different but His nature surely was the same. In which case how does interpreting “face to face” as Jesus at the second coming bring us to a place of “knowing in full”? Isnt it correct to say that Jesus was the same manifestation of God before and after the resurrection but the eyes of the disciples hadnt been fully opened to the full revelation of Gods purposes. Only when the Spirit was given and the completion of scripture arrived at did this “knowing in full” come about. In which case doesnt interpreting “face to face” in 1 Corinthians 13 as the second coming of Jesus end up diminishing who Jesus was during His earthly ministry?
