How long will we let these people who we are paying and who have been voted in via a system that we are part of keep doing this stuff. We (*you* and I) are paying for these animals to be slaughtered! This is in the same way that we paid for people in Iraq to be killed and their homes bombed. I wish I knew how best to stop this insanity. For anyone who has never seen a badger, they are incredible beasts. And they have been protected up till now for good reason - are we really about to watch them be killed into extinction? Shame on anyone who thinks this is ok! Defra has excelled themselves on this occasion and so has the British Government, for using the Badger as a political Wild Life tool, to subsidize Farmers with gross acts of cruelty. Originally, this politically motivated barbaric act was to be humane for the Badgers. But understanding the ignorance of many familiar with wallowing in dirt and filth. It has not been surprising that all form of civil decency, has gone completely out of the window. DEFRA has knowingly allowed the mass slaughter and murder of Badgers the UKs last native bear by all means. These include snaring, sending down dogs in badger sets, gassing and bludgeoning to death the victims, as they crawl out for one last final gasp and breath for life. When you have seen the filth and poor treatment of animals by farmers over the years. It is no wonder how easy it is for disease to be carried. Scientific reality is, that the Badger is not the enemy of the farming wild life stock. But rather the farmer, as a result of poor husbandry and intensive farming. So why are many cattle riddled with Bovine TP? Well, quiet simply due to transportation of infested animals to market and being transferred to infect other herds. How stringent is the sale of cattle and inspections to ensure animals are free from disease. Very little, as the farmer conveniently plays dumb and ignorant, closing their eyes and ears to science and reluctant to pay vet bills for any inspection of animals. All the time that such practices are allowed to continue by the protagonists in this disgraceful episode and who run the National Farmers Union. Cattle will continue to be infected with Bovine TB. The true facts and likely hood is, that the Badgers when near farming areas of cattle in stables and sheds. There can be a lot said for the Cattle actually infecting the Badgers with the Disease.
