Just READ what the normally-stingy ACC said about her: Her behavior in the care center has been friendly and social. Reaction to assessor: Jackie is lying in her litterbox when the assessor approaches. As soon as she notices the assessor she springs forward and begins rubbing on the bars of the cage and vocalizing. When spoken to softly, she remains at the front of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Jackie remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jackie has a momentary hesitation, then pushes her forhead into the assessors hand. Jackie appreciates petting on the head and body. PLACEMENT DETERMINATION: AVERAGE Jackie interacts with the assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Jackie has an unsteady gait, her head tilts to the left, she has an old wound at the base of her ear which is oozing blood & pus, & shes missing some teeth but shes eating soft food with a GREAT appetite - clearly Jackie wants to LIVE! This enchanting senior is every bit as deserving of rescue as any other cat on tonights crowded list, but seniors are usually the first ones to be killed; sure enough, Jackies VOCALIZING will be silenced - FOREVER - at noon tomorrow. Due to her medical issues, the ACC recommends New Hope Only rescue placement. Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt senior charmer JACKIE from the approved New Hope rescue groups!
