How many of us have ever worked at a Christian radio station? I spent three years at AM 1080 WFTD in Marietta, GA (1989-92); the first thing I learned is that Christian radio works on a different principle than secular radio. While commercial secular radio is driven by profit, the main purpose of a Christian radio station, especially one that aired a mix of music and teaching (as WFTD did until 1998), is to operate as a ministry outreach. These days, some Christian radio stations (especially corporate-owned stations) are contaminated by the drive for profit, rather than reach out as a ministry to the community.
