How many people can you fit in a 13 passenger van? Today we had - TopicsExpress

How many people can you fit in a 13 passenger van? Today we had 22 people in the Kids In Crisis Van. It was exciting to be able to take 13 children to Sunday School so with the 13 children, workers and ourselves there were 22 of us. The children were so well behaved in the van, just mesmerized by everything they saw as we were driving. They all looked so cute in their fancy clothes. How wonderful that these children can go to Sunday School and hear about their Heavenly Father who loves them so much. The thing that tugged at our heart strings was that if the church had more chairs, we could have taken more children to Sunday School. Kids In Crisis already donated several chairs to the Sunday School that were sent in the container. Sometimes Lazare takes chairs and children to Sunday School but today we didn’t have room for extra chairs. It is a stark reminder of how blessed we are to have so much in our home churches. This afternoon we spent our time with the children, blowing bubbles, building with blocks, playing soccer and playing with puzzles. They love all the activities and are so much happier when they are busy! We also have a couple of sick children we are attending to, making sure they get their medicine and teaching the workers how to care for the children. Please continue to pray for Faya. (Pronounced Fiah.) He is still so malnourished and struggling to tolerate the formula. He works very hard to drink his bottle and it takes a lot of coaxing to get him to finish a small bottle. Please pray that the workers would begin to understand how to appropriately care for him. Tomorrow we begin in earnest trying to train the workers both in the baby room and with the preschoolers and school age children. We need your prayers! Please pray that we would have wisdom as we tackle this mammoth job. Pray that we would be gracious, culturally sensitive and effective. At this point we really don’t know how to tackle this task. We have hardly had any electricity since we have been here. It makes it challenging to keep food fresh and cool and our computers charged. We are sending you two pictures. The first one is of William with some of the children, waiting to leave for Sunday School. The second one is of the Sunday School. Once again we want you to know how grateful we are for your prayers. We could not be here without your prayerful support. Grateful for each one of you, William, Marjory and Susan
