How many remember those hot summer nights when people sat on their porch steps, apartment balconies, Entrance stoops to apartments, and couples who just went out for a stroll and stopped to talk. I remember sitting on the step to the Greenfield apartments and hearing music from the juke box at Peeps dairy bar, getting a hamburger from George the Greeks restuarant across the street, Vi Sicciatano sitting on her apartment balcony watching and talking with passersby, married couples and groups from the bowing alley stolling down to the back room at Abbadinis for an evening sandwich and drink. Not much traffic, just occasional cars going by. Some of them honking a hello as they went by. People walking home from a Church services or choir practice at the Methodist Church. Just a quiet, warm evening in the summer on Main Street.
