How old are you? Or perhaps to rephrase how old are you really? Does the date of or birth provide a true measure of the duration of one’s existence? It is perhaps a ‘useful’ measure, but not a true measure, for if one seeks a ‘true’ measure, one that has its origins in ‘truth’ then the fact is that that each one of us is in fact billions of years old. We are the product of an UNBROKEN process, billions of years in the making of cell division that has resulted in the existence of you and me, one long chain of life giving on to life. We in essence and in truth, merely branches of the same ancient tree, and THIS tree is creation itself, the creator itself, this life-force that gives us our distinctiveness as branches & leaves of this tree, feeds of the veins and roots of the ultimate source of all existence – GOD/CREATION. By opening one’s eyes and minds and hearts to this fact, one is confronted with another batch of truth… the fact that in essence we all are one entity, because we all emanate from the same origin, the fact that you are a leaf on a different branch does not take away the fact that we are growing of the same tree, are both sustained by the same force of creation. What’s more it reinforces this increasingly growing understanding amongst many, of the fact that we are the subjects of a centuries old arrogance or ignorance that has shifted our gaze away from the truth of our existence and replaced it with ‘beliefs’ that do nothing else except to convince us that we are ‘lesser’ beings that somehow need to ‘follow’ more enlightened ones to connect to our creation, when in IN FACT, we need only LOOK WITHIN and acknowledge that we exist simultaneously , both physically and spiritually, and it is this ever-present spiritual existence that we need to open our eyes to.
