"How the Spirit Leads We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him (Acts 5:32). Scripture: Acts 5:27-42 Song: “Holy Spirit, Rain Down” When you’ve chosen to share the gospel, didn’t it seem as if everything just fell into place? My friend, Tammy, taught a church group in Singapore. Before the church meeting, she was reading 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 about divisions in the church. The importance of unity stuck in her mind. At her meeting, a lady said she quit going to church years ago because of hurtful things that were said to her by other members in the congregation. Tammy shared this Scripture with her, and the woman decided to try church again. When Tammy’s family was deciding to leave Singapore to go back to the United States, she was torn between her ministry and preparing to move. At the most practical level, she dreaded the time-consuming planning for an overseas move. She prayed about it, and when reading John 21:15-17, where Jesus urged Simon Peter to “feed my sheep,” she felt as if the Holy Spirit was directing her to keep feeding her own “sheep” in Singapore. The result: The move preparation went effortlessly, giving her time to continue leading her group for several more months. Similarly, in Acts, the disciples’ testimony was directed and confirmed by the Holy Spirit. Thankfully, this same Spirit of God is given to all who respond to Him with obedience. Father, give me the courage to trust the guidance from the indwelling Holy Spirit in my life’s decisions. And let my love for You lead others to You! Through Christ, amen."
